Halloween block exchange

These are a couple of blocks from a quilt done by Barbara.
It's a block exchange from the First Tuesday Quilt Divas in Norman, OK.
(The safety pin is to remind me where I left off,)

Notice the sashing.
This is always a good way to sashing because it faces both ways.
Also, isn't Sue just the cutest little witch you ever did see?

sunshine and flowers

I just finished the Sunshine and Flowers quilting on Charlene's quilt.
I just really like this quilt and the little girl that gets this is going to love it!

I took it outside to photograph it today and the Oklahoma wind made it pretty ding dang hard to do.
I hung it up on the South side of the pool fence in the courtyard at my apartment and let the South wind blow it into the fence.
Otherwise it kept blowing it off the fence.
(Better than into the pool--Yikes!)

Here's a close up of my little flower garden scene with plenty of sunshine.

On to more quilts and some grocery shopping.

Sunshine and Flowers

I started this one this morning for Jaquita's cousin.
I decided to do sunshine and flowers and a few butterflies thrown in.

This one is supposed to look like sunrise or sunset over water.

Finally got a pic of the srappy star all laid out at
Sew'n go yesterday.
Nancy said the pattern is in Eleanor Burns "Egg Money Quilts" book.

Finished all the feathers

I just finished this queen sized scrappy star quilt for Nancy.
It cried out for feathers soooooo all the big empty spaces have big feather wreaths.
(you can see the quilting better if you click on the pic.)

I don't have a place to spread out the whole quilt so I can only show you a small part, but you get the idea.

The quilt is 84 x 100 before quilting.

I
I hope you all had a great Easter.
We had an Easter rainstorm all day which was probably    disappointing to many youngsters and families looking to have outdoor activities, but after the drought we have been in for the last several months, I look at it as an Easter miracle.

3 D Bowtie quilt

Here's the completed Bowtie quilt.
I love how the 3 D"knot"pops up when you quilt around it.
If you look close you can see that I quilted three feathery things in each side of the Bowtie and then in the other part of the 4 patch I quilted some curly cues that echoed the design in the fabric.

Here is a view that includes the border.
Again curly cues that echo the design in the fabric.

I guess I better go and get busy basting,
after all, I got 7 quilts in yesterday and a big ole queen size the day before.
Still doin' the happy dance here.

Quilting Bounty

Yesterday was a quilter's bounty!
I was expecting a customer to bring me 3 quilts and when she got here she had 7!
Doin' the happy dance here!

Now you Laughing (Cow) Quilters that may have been
planning to bring me a quilt this weekend..
bring 'em on!
Still paying for Dusty's eyeball (which by the way is totally cured now!).

I'm almost done with the cutest little 3D bowtie.
I'll be posting again later today so you can see.

Finished another

Here is the finished quilt.
I even got to put the binding on this one.

Here's a little bit closer look at the quilting, but as always you can click on the picture and see it really close.
You can see that the quilting on the borders is very simple shapes just put together in different arrangements.

This again, shows the border,
only from the back and you will have to click the pic to be able to see it.

And finally, here is more of the back.
Again, give a little click.

That's about it for today.

Those of you from Mid-Del Stitchin' Sisters, don't forget to bring your pincushion to our meeting tomorrow night.
You just might win this wonderful cosmetic case:

Baby quilt

I'm on to the next one.
This is a baby quilt pieced by Trish and Mary.

It's made with the cutest fabric.
Click on the pic to see the quilting a little better.
I'm using Star multicolor painted desert thread which looks really good on this little quilt.

Got to go get ready for a China Painting show.

My beautiful doggie, Dusty, just got the all clear from the doctor.
His corneal ulcer has healed!!!
Of course he won't pose for me,
you'll just have to take my word for it.

My favorite block so far

This has to be my favorite block so far
on this quilt:

I have to admit that yesterday I was nervous about quilting this quilt because I know CeCe doesn't like really close quilting, and when I start getting creative and putting in details on a project like this one, I start getting close.
But then again, I told myself,  "she said she wants a quilt with my quilting on it, so loosen  up and give her what she is expecting.  It will be soft and cuddly like she likes, not the stiff over quilted art quilts that are not meant to be slept under that she doesn't like. So get on with it, Mary Ann and do your magic."
That said, I got on with it
and put feathers on the turkey, Oh, and check out his
ugly little feet.

Then went on to the lemonade and quit worrying about the blue thread (I hardy ever change thread, especially on a fun quilt like this one), and just relaxed and quit stressing over every little thing.

It's not that I didn't like what I did yesterday,
but I spent so much time over analyzing everything that I felt like things just didn't flow very well, inside my head.
(The quilting was up to snuff, but the process was bumpy.)
Anyway, I'm excited about the quilt, I'm in the zone and that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Happy quilting!

Here's the next one:

This one is pieced by CeCe and is the first BOM of the Mid-Del Stitchin' Sisters Quilt Guild.
(Back in 2004.)

Just wanted to show what I'm doin' today.
Got to get back at it before the morning is all gone.

Happy quilting.
