embellished quilt

Here is a highly embellished quilt that I am doing for Margaret.
I still have a couple of borders to do and a little tweaking to do.
But I'm almost done.

I did some closeups of some of the blocks so you can hopefully see how beautifully Margaret embellished these blocks.
She did decorative background stitching on all the blocks, so I quilted the backgrounds by sending out ribbons from the flowers so as not to interfere with the beautiful stitching on Margaret's blocks.
Enjoy the pics:

Beautiful quilt

Here's the beautiful quilt I did for Lois last week:

 Close up:

Closeup of the back:

Closeup of the borders from the back.
The curly cue border on the right is one of my favorites, and the ruffly feau feathers on the left
has a paisley-esque feel to it.

Here's a closeup to show the curly cue on the black.

Halloween wall hanging

Here's a cute little Halloween wall hanging
I quilted yesterday for Robin's mother.

I've been thinking about what to do on it for a little while because when I basted it, besides, the pumpkins, all I could see was the spiderwebs.
I'm not crazy about quilting spiderwebs, especially ones that small!

When I got to the center of the quilt to start I was delighted to see the dark black lines demanding to be quilted with curly-cues which are one of my faves!!

I was also happy to find the saw tooth triangles I could quilt over on the inner border.  It says ''Happy Halloween" in letters too small to outline.  then the outer border, has figures that are small and detailed inside big circles, so I just outlined the big circles and that was enough quilting.

And or course the ever popular back:

Last week I quilted a very beautiful black and beige quilt and then forgot to photograph it.
I'm kicking myself because it is really, really pretty.
I called the gal yesterday and she is supposed to send me photos.
I hope to get them soon.

My next quilt is an embellished quilt for Margaret.
I'm getting ready to baste it.
I looked at it a little bit ago and saw that some of the blocks have decorative stitching in the background as cross hatching.
I wonder what I'm supposed to do to quilt that? Hmmm?

Another Finish

Here's the one I finished for Leslie.
I did Orange peel on the blocks,
back and forth loops on the tan
and a double run of capital L's on the outer border.

Here's the back of the quilt.
Its's hard to see the stitching so click on the pic to enlarge.

Got another on basted today so expect more postings  soon.

Jessica's Wedding Quilt

I got started sewing on my niece's wedding quilt
yesterday at my Laughing COWS group.
This is the way is looks laid out on the wide back I got at Quilter's Corner Early Bird 20% off entire purchase sale yesterday morning:

Here is what the quilt will look like finished:

I designed this quilt a couple of years ago when I was in desperate need of a new quilt on my bed and didn't have much time to make one.
As you can see from the four patch pic above it is very simple to make and goes together fast!
Just putting the triangle on one corner of each block
sprinkles the stars around the quilt.
I purposely chose to keep the pattern of the strip sets totally random so I didn't have to think about a pattern.
Fast and simple is my goal here.

Finished another

Here's the one I just finished for Jan.
The curvy part is raw edged and will fray when washed.

Here you can see the back of the quilt.

And a close up of the corner:

I still have a few quilts to go to get caught up,
but the pile is definitely getting smaller!!

If you have something you need quilted by Christmas,
get it to me soon.
Even with my customer's Christmas quilts, I see hope for my brothers birthday quilt and my nieces wedding quilt getting done soon.
In fact, I cut out Jessica's wedding quilt today and will start piecing it tomorrow at Laughing COWS.

Don't Ya just Love Pumpkins?

Here's a table topper I quilted for Mary at
Quilters Corner
Midwest City today.
She has kits for this little jewel!

She was going to stitch in the ditch to get it done in a hurry today.
I looked at it and got a funny look on my face and said,
"Oh, I see pumpkins,
right here:"

"and here:"

"and here:"

"and here:"

"and here:"

Then Mary got a funny look on her face and said,
"Could you do it today?"
I pondered, then caved, and there you have it.
Pumpkins!!
And I love doing pumpkins!!

I feel fantastic!!

Hey, Energizer Bunny Here!
I have to say that I haven't felt this good in a
lonnnggggg time!!!!!!!!

Those of you that know me and that have been reading my blog for awhile, know that I have a chronic neuro muscular illness called
Myasthenia Gravis!
I don't like to belly ache about  feeling bad day after day, because I don't think that is why you guys read my blog.
But the way I feel today makes me realize how bad I've been feeling for several months!!!

I want to talk about the disease a little here because anybody can get it at any time!
That is really scary!
I got it at age 43 and I'm now 59.
At the time I was a blues singer on the verge of who knows ....
Totally life changing.
Please read about it here

Now on the the good stuff!

Yesterday I basted and quilted this beautiful table runner for Debbie. I'll see her tonight at guild.  I hadn't done flowers for awhile and had forgotten how much I enjoy doing them!  (I also got halfway through quilting a different quilt which I will show in another post...energizer...
Here's a great baby quilt I started for Melissa
this morning.
It's made from a Moda Strawberry Fields charm pack.

Here's a closeup of the flower quilting:

And also the back:

Here is the next quilt project I am embarking on:

A daiwabo wedding quilt for my niece Jessica.
I'll post a picture of the design for the future quilt in a later post, I think this post is long enough.

Energizer bunny is going back to the sewing machine.

I'm back!!

I've been a bit under the weather but I'm back in the saddle today and got this one quilted for Connie.

When I went to take the pics, the batteries were dead in my good camera so these pics aren't so good.
You can see the quilting a little better in the next pic.

I also managed to get this table runner done.
Check here for the tutorial.

Rough Week

I've had a rough week but things are getting better so I'll be back with pics of quilts probably tomorrow.
I had my IVIG infusion for Mysathenia Gravis
and got a terrible headache.
So I've been in a codeine haze for a few days now.

Happy Quilting!
