Happy Birthday USA!!

Here's what I'm working on today.
Finally got over my angst about it.
It is such a gorgeous quilt that I didn't want to do anything to take away from the beauty!

As it moves up to the top it turns to dark purples.
Trish calls it Tequila sunset, thus the sun rays in the lower left hand corner.
I'm using a variety of threads: yellows, pinks, purples, rust, varigated and solid.
I started by stitching with my edge foot with the needle a couple of clicks into the sashing.
Even with the edge foot, staying right in the ditch is hard, so that solves the problem for me.
That stabilized the quilt so I was free to start with the free motion, skipping over the sashing.
I want it to look like looking through a window.
Hope Trish likes it.

Well it's the 4th of July.
As a child our family always went to Spavinaw creek in Eastern Oklahoma on the 4th for our annual sunburn, mosquito bites and sparklers.
We have wonderful memories.

What memories do you have of 4th of July's long past?

Have a safe Holiday

Happy quilting
